home depot project days

so, for the past few months, we've been going to home depot for their 'kids project days' and let me tell you....it's been a lot of fun!! it's once a month, they provide all of the necessary parts and tools, and it's free!! can't get much better!! the girls have had a blast too!! so far they've made 'jewelry boxes', a penske rental truck or a sail boat, and this week they made a bulletin board! they are super excited to hang them up and put stuff on them......sadly it's over a month later and they're still not hung! what can i say....we've been busy! lol!

haylie really does it all on her own! i show her where to put the nails and she goes to town! she's becoming quite the little carpenter! pretty soon she'll be helping nick out on his projects throughout the house!

charlie needs a little more help than haylie, but she's still doing great! this past week (our third one) she really started to blossom! she's feeling much more comfortable with the hammer! and she only got my finger a dozen times or so! hahaha!

i think it's safe to say that the part of the projects that the kids enjoy most is the painting!! and they all do such a great job! it's so fun to just watch them! and they're so proud of the finished products.....after all....they made them all on their own!!
