mother’s day this year was a lot of fun. we didn't really do anything major, but we had a wonderful day, spending time with our grandmothers (both my mom and nick's mom were out of town for the weekend. i suppose i can't blame them.....afterall, they should get to do whatever they want on mother's day! lol!)
so the day started off with breakfast of course. i almost always cook breakfast on sunday mornings, but on mother's day we go out.....i'm sure not cooking and cleaning on mother's day if i don't have to! the past 2 years the girls and i have went to waterstreet for breakfast on mothers day! we loved it! it's a nice place for kids, cuz it's casual, and they give all the mothers a flower, which the girls love! and then we would always take a walk dow the tracks! well.....waterstreet doesn't serve breakfast anymore! i was rather sad when i found this out, since we always loved going there. so needless to say we had to find another breakfast spot. this year we went to denny's, since we had not been there since it opened! turned out to be a hit! very kid friendly and delicious food! and nick even got to come this year since he was off work! what a perfect start to the day!
before we left to head to the grandmas, we stopped at home and i got my gift from nick and the girls....a kindle fire!!! it was a total surprise and a wonderful one!!! its a lot of fun and there's a ton to do on it! the girls also got me some flowers and a bracelet! what a great day!!
so we visited my grandma, went to nick's nonie rosie's for lunch, and then stopped at his nonie irene's before heading home for the night! a busy day, but a fun, relaxing one!! irene has a big dirt pile in her back yard from when nick fixed the water line, so of course the girls had to play on it! which was fine with me cuz it was a nice day out and they love being outside! so i decided i should get some pictures of them! they turned out pretty good.....even with the yellow and orange flags making an appearance in most of the pictures!
i hope everyone had a great mother's day!!!
