tumbling into a great time!

on sunday june 3rd we ventured to the illinois valley gymnastics academy in ottawa for haylie's gymnastics party. what a super fun time!! we had a super nice hostess who was very patient with the kids! 

after she explained the rules, they all did some stretches to get warmed up!

then they played some games....

did an obstacle course.....

and got a chance to try out all of the different equipment!

i forgot the name of this piece of equipment, but it's basically like a long tramoline that they get to run and jump all the way down!

alex is a fast runner as it is, so on this thing he was at lightening speed!

she sure can jump pretty high!

and this time they jumped through the hoop!

after the warm ups and games, it was time for cake and gifts!!

while we were enjoying cake and gifts, our hostess was getting ready for free time, setting up a....

mikaela takes gymnastics classes here, so she's familiar with all the equipment! and she's such a natural!! she's just awesome!!

i think the gymnastics party was definitely a big hit with all the kids!! they all seemed to have a wonderful time!! i'm sure we'll be having more parties here in the future!!
